Wayne County’s event season got off to a great start last weekend. The 5th Annual Heart of Lake Cumberland Springfest was held Friday and Saturday. Despite some rain at times, thousands turned out for great entertainment on both nights. There was entertainment for people of all ages with live music, food vendors, a classic car show, 5K run and a motorcycle ride. KidZone and Trackless Train rides were also available for both kids and the young at heart. If you missed it, make plans to be a part of the fun next year for what is one of the biggest events in the Lake Cumberland area. Also, be sure to check the calendar section of this site for all the other exciting events that will take place in Wayne County this summer.
Don’t forget the Wayne County Farmers’ Market. It is now open on Saturdays in downtown Monticello from 8:00 a.m until approximately 12:oo p.m. Be sure to get there early for the best deals and selections. The market is located in the Judicial Center parking lot just off Columbia Avenue. Be sure to visit every Saturday morning for the best in locally grown produce and more. Just follow the signs on Hwy 90 and on Main Street in Monticello to reach the market.
